Playing around with mariadb on Windows 7 give me more knowledge on command line, specially with service. I learn about how to add new service, start the service and delete a service from command line.
Add New Service on Windows 7
To add new service from command line make sure you have administrator access. Run cmd as administrator.
You can use program or sc commands.
example : (create new service with name “mariadb”)
c:\mariadb\bin>mysqld –install mariadb –defaults-file=”c:\mariadb\my.ini”
Service successfully installed.
Start the Service on Windows 7
use net start <service name>
c:\mariadb\bin>net start mariadb
The mariadb service is starting…
The mariadb service could not be started.
A system error has occurred.
System error 1067 has occurred.
The process terminated unexpectedly.
or use services.
or check the service existence with Windows Task Manager (under Services tab)
Delete a service on Windows 7
Use format : sc delete <service name>
c:\mariadb\bin>sc delete mariadb
[SC] DeleteService SUCCESS
Great. I can extend more capability around Windows command line.
