How to install FTP server on Windows XP with FileZilla

Recent backup solution for home user training that held by my company give me another knowledge on implement it on daily operation ( acronis true image ).

One useful feature that acronis support is store backup to FTP server, we already deploy FTP server in our company but I also setup local division FTP server using Windows XP operating system and FileZilla.

FileZilla itself is free ftp server that available for free and support Windows 2000, XP and Vista.

Here the process of install FTP server using FileZilla FTP server :

1. Download FileZilla FTP server and save in My Document or other location.

2. Install FTP Server

Double click installer.


Click Next and pick Destination Folder.

Click Next to continue.


I choose startup behaviour ‘Install as service, started manually

Click Next to continue.


Click Install button.


Install process should start as shown on the picture.

Click Close button.


Connect to server will give you this window, click OK.


If everything run OK you’ll see information as shown in this picture.


At this stage the installation process went smooth, at next article I’ll show how to configure FTP server on Windows XP with FileZilla.
