Most of PHP installer don’t come with email server and default Windows installation also not come with email server. mail() is php function that soon or later will be use in home development server. For confirm new user registration, reset forget password etc that utilize email function.
In this post series I’ll cover step by step guide of configure email server from scratch for PHP installer like Appserv, Wampserver, Nucserv etc. You also able to use this guide for PHP that installed from scratch either using Apache or IIS.

1. Install Email Server
2. Configure Email Server
3. Configure Email Client
4. Configure Local domain
5. Test send email from php script
6. Checking if email delivered successfully
Working PHP environment (Apache web server or IIS web server, PHP language and Database (optional).
You can refer to PHP installer guide for choosing instant solution to make working PHP environment or install it from scratch.
Internet Connection :
No internet connection needed for doing this except for download all the files (email server, php installer etc)
